Chumphon islands are at close proximity to mainland coast, comprises of 40 small island. Most of them are limestone islands with beautiful beaches, coral reefs in both deep and shallow water.
Koh Khai (Khai Island)
There is only one beach upfront on the island. Shallow water corals near the frontbeach is the popular spot for swimming and diving.
Koh Ngam Yai and Koh Ngam Noi (Ngam Yai and Ngam Noi Island)
The distance between the two islands is about 300 meters. Koh Ngam Yai is the best scuba diving spot of Chumphon islands. The topography of Koh Ngam Yai and Koh Ngam Noi is rocky limestone cliffs surrounded by a variety of fertile coral reefs with colorful fish, and spots suitable for snorkeling or scuba diving.
Koh Mattra (Mattra Island)
Koh Mattra is a big island with spectacular rocks, a coral reef and a rare crab called Poo Kai - or chicken crab - which climbs trees and cheeps like a chick. The cape infront of the island also has colorful coral reef for diving and snorkeling. The underwater wolrd of the island offers beautiful corals, anemone, and also giant clams.
Koh Lang Ka Jiew ( Lang Ka Jiew Island)
This island is a large sea sparrow's nests concession island . It has many beautiful scenery, round the beach the sea is about 3 meters deep, there are many kinds of beautiful corals. There is a 100 meter long beach in the west which very beautiful.
Koh Pitak (Pitak Island)
Koh Pitak is 1 km away from the coast and when the tide is low you can even walk across. There are 42 families on the island whom are all Buddhist. Villagers are mostly fishermen and farmers. It is on the island that we are the privilege guests of the local community as they take us in for the evening. You have an opportunity to wander round the island and watch life, on the east side of the island is a beach where you can swim. The community do have some rules and regulations for us during our stay and these are that we respect the culture of the culture of the local community in particular dressing conservatively ensuring that your knees and shoulders are covered. In addition to this we would ask that you understand that we are guests in the community, conditions are basic and they have graciously opened the homes to us for a unique insight into the local culture.
